Jaymak Ballarat Supports 15 Trees: Offsetting Our Carbon Footprint Through Local Action

At Jaymak, we’re committed to delivering safer, cleaner environments for our customers — but we also recognise the responsibility we have to the environment in which we operate. For our regional franchises in particular, a significant amount of travel is required each year to service customers across wide geographic areas. While this travel is essential to providing high-quality preventative cleaning services, it does contribute to our carbon footprint.

That’s why we’re proud to share Jaymak Ballarat’s support of the 15 Trees initiative, a practical step toward balancing operational impact with environmental responsibility.

Supporting Sustainability at a Local Level

As part of this initiative, Jaymak Ballarat has purchased 175 native trees for Fifteen Trees to plant on their behalf right here in the Ballarat district. These trees will play an important role in restoring local habitats, supporting biodiversity, and strengthening the resilience of surrounding landscapes. The environmental benefits of these plantings will continue to grow for decades, contributing to healthier ecosystems and improved environmental outcomes for the local community.

Why This Matters in Our Line of Work

Preventative cleaning is a hands-on, service-based industry. Our technicians travel daily to aged care facilities, hospitals, hospitality venues, food processors, and commercial kitchens — often covering long distances to ensure essential hygiene and compliance standards are met. For regional franchises like Jaymak Ballarat, this level of travel is unavoidable, but it does increase environmental impact over time.

By participating in the 15 Trees initiative, Jaymak Ballarat is taking meaningful action to help offset a portion of this footprint, while also investing directly back into the local environment.

About the 15 Trees Initiative

15 Trees partners with landholders, community groups, and environmental organisations to deliver tree-planting projects where they are needed most. These projects improve biodiversity, enhance soil stability, increase carbon absorption, and help rebuild natural ecosystems across Australia.

Supporting initiatives like this allows businesses to contribute to environmental regeneration in a way that is tangible, measurable, and long-lasting.

A Practical Approach to Sustainability

Sustainability doesn’t always require large-scale change. Sometimes it’s about making informed, responsible choices that align with how we operate every day. For Jaymak Ballarat, supporting 15 Trees reflects a commitment to acknowledging the realities of regional service delivery while still taking responsibility for environmental impact.

This initiative aligns with Jaymak’s broader focus on preventative maintenance, long-term thinking, and responsible business practices — not only for our customers, but for the communities and environments we serve.

Looking Ahead

We’re proud of Jaymak Ballarat for leading by example and demonstrating how regional businesses can contribute positively to environmental stewardship. Initiatives like this spark important conversations across our network about sustainability, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Every service trip matters. Every tree planted matters. And together, small actions can create lasting change.
